Özet:

Ebû Mansûr Mâkâns father Kâkî and uncles Fîrûzân, Leylâ, Şîrec Vehsûdân belonged to the Fûlâdwand tribe, one of the prominent tribes of the Deylemites. In the historical process, Mâkân and his family formed an alliance with the Zaydîs of Tabaristân and fought against the Sâmânîds, one of the main actors of the period, and Mâkân b. Kâkî distinguished himself during these struggles and appeared on the stage of history. After the death of his uncle Leylâ b. Numan, who was the leader of the Deylemites, Mâkân b. Kâkî gathered the Deylemites around him. Afterwards, he increased his power and acted together with the Zaydîs of Taberistân in a struggle for sovereignty in Taberistân and dominated Âmul, one of the important cities of the region. He also expanded his sphere of influence by intervening in the intra-dynastic struggle for the throne that started after the death of Hasan b. Ali el-Utrûş, the leader of the Zeydîs of Taberistân. As a result of all these developments, he confronted the Sâmânîds and was defeated and expelled from Taberistân by Esfâr b. Şîreveyh, one of his former men who fought on their behalf. However, he did not give up his struggle and regained control first in Rey, one of the most important cities of the Jibâl region, and then in Taberistân. In the end, he had to fight with another Deylemite commander Merdâvîc b. Ziyâr for the control of these places and because of this struggle, he had to swear allegiance to the Sâmânîds. After this allegiance, Mâkân b. Kâkî, with the help he received from the Sâmânîds, established control over Taberistân, Cürcân and Kirmân, but later rebelled against the Sâmânîds and was killed in a battle at Ishakâbâd near Rey in 329 940.
