Özet:

Efforts to understand and interpret Mevlânâs Mathnawi began during his lifetime and have continued to the present day. In this vein, numerous annotatories have been written. While some annotatories address the entirety of the Mathnawi, there are also many partial annotatories focusing on specific sections or selected verses of the work. Mevlânâ employed a symbolic and metaphorical style laden with representations in the Mathnawi, skillfully embedding his intended meanings within the stories. The Mathnawi contains numerous standalone or intertwined stories, one of which is the Story of Three Princes found at the end of the sixth volume of the Mathnawi. This study examines the allegories and symbols in the Story of Three Princes in the sixth volume of Mehmed Murad Nakşibendîs commentary titled Hülâsâtüş-Şürûh, which provides a Sufi interpretation of the story, and how the same story was concluded by commentators such as Şemî Efendi, Ankaravî, Tahirül-Mevlevî, Abdülbaki Gölpınarlı, and A. Avni Konuk, who commented on the entirety of the Mathnawi. Given that this story appears at the end of the sixth volume of the Mathnawi, the manner in which commentators conclude it is significant in reflecting their views on the controversial seventh volume of the Mathnawi.
