Özet:

Isbayerd Castle, located in the Hizan district of Bitlis province, is located at a strategic point where the valleys meet between Esenler and Derince villages. Locally called Tağka Sparyete, the settlement consists of a castle built on a steep rock that dominates the entire valley, the Tağ Madrasa in the old settlement, the burial ground around the madrasa and civil architecture. Information about the settlement can be found in Early Age, Modern Ottoman sources and local sources of the period. Isbayerd Castle is a principality center and some villages around it are connected to this principality centre. Isbayerd Castle was built in two stages in a way that the castle architecture in the region was shaped according to the landforms. Due to the fact that the castle was built during the Ottoman period and was not used as a settlement afterwards, the architectural remains have reached today in ruins. In addition, in the northeast of the castle, there is the Tağ Madrasa, which has a wall remnant, and the cemetery where the tombstones of the lord and his family who lived in this castle are located in the north. Isbayerd Principality under the rule of the Ottoman Empire; Apart from the administrative area where the castle was located, it also ruled many settlements in the region. Due to factors such as the trade network in the region and being at the center of settlements that have hosted religious life, it is an important settlement center with the potential to be uncovered by excavations and visited. This study covers the holistic evaluation and promotion of the castle and the immovable cultural properties around it in terms of art history, correction of some wrong information and suggestions.
