Özet:

The main element of the sentence is the predicate. Elliptic predicate or other elliptical elements are rarely found in colloquial speech. This situation in the texts reflecting the spoken language and the spoken language occurs for the following reasons: reinforcing the expression, leaving the interpretation to the reader, arousing curiosity, forgetting, splitting the speech, allusion, hiding etc. Elliptic sentences cannot, of course, form the whole of a text. At most, a few elliptical sentences can come together. Even in such a case, there should be expressions implying the existence of predicates in the preceding or following parts of the speech or text. Another place where elliptical sentences are used is in poetry. However, poetry, like spoken language, does not happen instantaneously. A poem goes through the thinking and editing process of the poet during the production phase. The poet thinks over the poem, calculates what he should say for what purpose and where. In this case, the absence of a predicate in a poem is at some point the poet's own conscious choice. At this point, the question that needs to be emphasized is: If the basic element of the sentence is the predicate, what could be the reasons for using the sentences in which the predicate is not specified? The reasons for not using the predicate seen in the spoken language are also valid in poetry to a large extent. Some other reasons can be added to these: to enable the reader to use their imagination, to expand the reflections and influences of the poem on the reader, to increase the effect of the poem, etc. In addition, the desire to find poetry meter and rhyme causes this situation. In this respect, there are sentences in which the predicate is not specified in classical poems written in Turkestan and Anatolia. There are even ghazals that do not have any predicate.
