Özet:

Purpose: When we look at the history of art, it is observed that each period needs to say something new compared to the previous period. Todays art world has also been affected by these changes, from production styles to the audiences experiences, from the position of the collector to the diversity of exhibition areas. The emergence of the concept of a museum without walls or new exhibition opportunities such as NFT, by expanding the exhibition area traditionally limited to museum or gallery walls with todays technological possibilities, has also radically transformed the processes of creating artworks. The study aims to examine the transformation of the exhibition forms and possibilities of the work of art by associating it with its historical development and context, as well as the new opportunities that this transformation provides in artistic creation processes. Literature ReviewBackground: The phases of todays art world, from production styles to audience experiences, from the position of the collector to the diversity of exhibition areas, have been examined. It is emphasized that the exhibition area traditionally limited to museum or gallery walls will be expanded with todays technological possibilities and the concept of a museum without walls or new exhibition opportunities such as NFT will emerge. Method: In this article, bridges between concepts were established by literature review and relational connection method and examples of works from art history were included. The concept of NFT, which has gained popularity in recent years, was discussed in the sense of creating a new space in terms of exhibition, and a critical literature review was conducted focusing on the concept. At the same time, a qualitative research process was followed by examining work samples from art history. Findings: This study focuses on the effects of technological developments, individual and social transformation on art, which are among the reasons for the evolution of the exhibition space from past to present. The change of exhibition spaces in the 20th century and after and the similarity of the NFT concept with the idea of a museum without walls are examined with examples within the scope of the article. Conclusion: The idea of the artist looking for new places to exhibit his work has gained new meaning with the power of the internet, especially among video artists. The dominant character and facilitating aspect of new media and the internet today played a role in the emergence of the virtual museum concept. It is possible to say that the idea that nourishes the virtual museum is Malrauxs vision of a museum without walls.
