Özet:

After World War II, the world entered the Cold War period and became bipolar, with the Western and Eastern Blocs led by the USA and the USSR. The Korean War was of great importance in the foreign policy of Turkey, which turned its direction towards the Western Bloc, especially due to the Soviet threat. As a matter of fact, Turkey saw the Korean War as an opportunity to become a member of NATO and to become allies with other Western states, especially the USA. Turkey, which fulfilled an important duty in ensuring peace by sending soldiers to the war, also clearly shows that it is a party to the Western Bloc. In our study, issues such as the organization of the 1st Turkish Brigade, which was decided to be sent to Korea under the command of the UN, in Ankara, the formation of cadres, and the health checks of the soldiers were emphasized. In addition, information was given about the supply of weapons, equipment, and materials for the Turkish troops, the training of the soldiers in the units, mostly in schools in Ankara, and the transfer of the troops mentioned firstly from Etimesgut to Iskenderun and then from there to Korea with American ships. In addition, the problems experienced were also evaluated. In addition to ATASEs archive documents on the Korean War, research and review works and periodicals were used.

II.
