Özet:

In this study, the biostratigraphic features of Triassic Taraşçı Limestone of Geyik Dağı Unit, which is exposed within Central and Western Taurus were investigated. Geyik Dağı Unit, an important fragment of the Anatolid-Torid Block, is located at the base in the western part of the Central Taurids. The Lower Paleozoic and the Triassic rocks of the Sultans Mountains are the equivalent of the same succesion oucropped in Seydişehir Konya. The Triassic rocks in Sultan Dağı area consists of the following units: Pınarbaşı Formation consisting of conglomerate, sandstone, mudstone and clayey limestone and ammonit bearing, shallow marine clayey limestones, dolomites and crinoidal limestones of Taraşçı Limestone. Taraşçı Limestone includes characteristic faunal elements of Sephardic Province, such as Late Anisian, Fassanian, Longobardian and Julian ammonites. In the study area, foraminifers, algae, mollusk gastrapods, bivalvis fragments and echinoid spin sections were obtained.
