Özet:

In the 18th and 19th centuries, when innovative movements were intense in the Ottoman Empire, traditional Turkish classical music experienced its golden age. One of the important musicians who grew up in this period was Şakir Ağa, who received training at Enderun and rose to the rank of chief muezzin. Şakir Ağa, who also took lessons from his contemporary Hammamızdade İsmail Dede Efendi, has fifty-three works registered in the TRT Türk classical music repertoire. In the article, the documentary scanning method was used while examining the section on Şakir Ağas life, and a chronological approach was adopted. Sometimes, the discussion method was also used while explaining the sources that provided contradictory information. The fact that Hızır İlyas Ağa, the author of Letâif-i Vekâyi-i Enderûnniye, which is an important historical source in terms of telling the story of the palace life of the period and the life of Enderun, lived in the same period as Şakir Ağa is the primary source used when explaining the composers life. In the article, while creating the life section of Şakir Ağa, the mentioned work was examined in chronological order and an intertextual approach was exhibited with other sources. In the second part of the study, Şakir Ağas works were explained in the context of genre, makam and usul parameters, statistical data were interpreted and given meaning. In this process, traces of Şakir Ağas composing behaviors were sought, and his dominant and diversifying tendencies were determined. In addition, the event, which was narrated by members of Turkish classical music and known as the Ferahnak event and can be defined as a musical competition in a sense, was analyzed in the context of motivation.
