Özet:

The concepts of muhkam and mutashabih, which are one of the important subjects of the science of tafsir, are mentioned in 7th verse of Al-i İmran. According to this verse, muhkam verses form the basis of Quran. In addition, the warning in the last part of the verse indicates that the tawil the study of understanding which will progress on the mutashabih verses is restricted. The ones who are in the activity of interpreting mutashabih verses might be trying to grasp something whose knowledge is belong to Allah. This determination has created an important and wide area of discussion in the field of tafsir. The fact that it is not specified which verse is muhkam, which verse is mutashabih in Quran and the mutashabih verses allow for different interpretations have formed the basis of the discussions. In this study, it was examined the method of interpreting the concepts such as Rûh, Hurûf-ı Mukattaa, Sâk, Rüyetullah, Yedullah in İsmail Turans tafsir named Vücûhut-Tevîl fî Esrârit-Tenzîl. In this context, it was compared the interpretations of İsmail Turan and the interpretations of some different mufassirs. As a result of the examination, although it is seen that Turan has similar approaches with some mufassirs about these concepts, it is also identified his different views. This shows that Turan, while accepting the interpretations of previous mufassirs, has revealed some new interpretations on the subject.

Tefsir ilminin önemli konularından biri olan Muhkem ve müteşâbih kavramları Âl-i İmrân 7. Ayetinde zikredilmektedir.
