Özet:

Democrat Party DP, founded on January 7, 1946, ended the twenty-seven-year rule of the Republican Peoples Party CHP with the general elections held on May 14, 1950. The DPs rule, which left deep marks on Turkeys political history, ended with the military coup that took place on the morning of May 27, 1960 at the end of the decade. Following the coup, the National Unity Committee MBK administration and activities continued from May 27, 1960 to October 25, 1961. This military coup was widely covered in Turkeys national and local press. This article examines in detail the reflections of the May 27 Military Coup in the Nazilli local press. The coup was celebrated enthusiastically in the Nazilli local press with the joy of the holiday and May 27 was described as a reform, a great revolution and a gentle coup with the perception that it was approved by the Turkish nation. Within the scope of the study, the practices of the MBK administration after the May 27 Military Coup, the attitude of the people of Nazilli against the coup after May 27, the publics reaction to the trial process of DP members in Yassıada were aimed to be explained in line with the news reflected in the newspapers. In this context, the historical process experienced in the local newspapers published in Nazilli; Hür Menderesİnkılâp, Kervan and Madran were examined and a general framework was created.
