Özet:

In this article, the womens and family catechisms, which are the bedside books of the common Muslims, are evaluated as a field of fiqh literature and analysed in terms of the science of fiqh. The article consists of two parts. In the first part, the concept of catechism and the types of catechisms are briefly emphasised. Then, an attempt is made to identify womens and family catechisms, which occupy an important place in fiqh literature. The identified womens and family catechisms are recorded on the basis of the periods in which they were written. These periods are before and after the Republic. In addition, the related works are classified as general family catechisms and works dealing with special subjects. Each identified work is briefly introduced and information about it is given. In this section, the reasons for the writing of women and family catechisms are emphasised. In the second part, the evaluations and criticisms made against womens and family catechisms are analysed. These criticisms were made in the following respects: Language and style, visuality, relevance to the family, functionality, suitability to the sources, education, similarity and gender of the authors. In the conclusion part, the general conclusions are stated and some recommendations are made for the future of the catechisms to be written.
