 Since 2012, a number of languages have been taught as elective courses within the Ministry of National Education. One such example is the Kurdish course, which is taught in Kurmanji and Zazaki dialects. Today, in secondary schools, that is, in the five to eight grades, Kurmanji or Zazaki courses can be opened as electives. The purpose of this study is to examine the word types in the texts in the eighth-grade Kurmanji textbook. The present study employs a qualitative research method, and its findings reveal the distribution of words in the texts of the work in question according to word types. The data in the study was collected through document analysis. The material of the study consists of 35 texts in the eighth-grade Kurmanji textbook belonging to MEB Publications. The data obtained was analyzed using descriptive analysis, presented in tables and interpreted. At the end of the study, a total of 12594 words with repetitions were identified in the texts in the eighth grade Kurmanji textbook. The analysis revealed that 4347 nouns, 2165 verbs, 775 adjectives, 925 adverbs, 1714 pronouns, 1313 prepositions, 1226 conjunctions and 129 exclamations were used in all texts. In the texts derived from the eighth grade Kurmanji textbook, nouns were identified as the most common and exclamation words were the least common. It was found that 9781 words were used in informative texts, 2134 in narrative texts and 679 in poems. At the end of the study, various suggestions were made to relevant individuals and institutions, especially to curriculum preparers and implementers, as well as textbook writers.

 2012 yılından itibaren Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı bünyesinde bazı diller seçmeli ders olarak okutulmaya başlanmıştır. Bunlardan biri de Kurmancî ve Zazakî lehçeleriyle okutulan Kürtçe dersidir. Bugün ortaokullarda yani beşinci sınıftan sekizinci sınıfa kadar olan kademelerde Kurmancî veya Zazakî dersi seçmeli olarak açılabiliyor. Bu çalışmanın amacı, sekizinci sınıf Kurmancî ders kitabındaki metinlerde yer alan kelime türlerini incelemektir. Çalışmada söz konusu eserde yer alan metinlerdeki kelimelerin sözcük türlerine göre dağılımı ortaya konulmuştur. Bu çalışma nitel araştırma yöntemiyle yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada veriler doküman analizi yoluyla toplanmıştır. Çalışmanın materyalini, MEB Yayınlarına ait sekizinci sınıf Kurmancî ders kitabında yer alan 35 metin oluşturmaktadır. Elde edilen veriler, betimsel analizle çözümlenmiş, tablolar halinde sunulmuş ve yorumlanmıştır. Çalışmanın sonunda sekizinci sınıf Kurmancî ders kitabındaki metinlerde toplam 12594 tekrarlarla birlikte kelime belirlenmiştir. Bütün metinlerde 4347 isim, 2165 fiil, 775 sıfat, 925 zarf, 1714 zamir, 1313 edat, 1226 bağlaç ve 129 ünlemin kullanıldığı tespit edilmiştir. Sekizinci sınıf Kurmancî ders kitabındaki metinlerde en çok isim, en az ise ünlem türündeki kelimelere rastlanmıştır. Bilgilendirici metinlerde 9781, öyküleyici metinlerde 2134 ve şiirlerde ise 679 kelime kullanıldığı belirlenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonunda öğretim programı hazırlayıcıları ve uygulayıcılarıyla ders kitabı yazarları başta olmak üzere ilgili kişi ve kurumlara çeşitli önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
