Özet:

Mecmuas in manuscript libraries are crucial in terms of containing a wide variety of literary and scholarly materials. There are many different kinds of information in mecmuas, from medicine recipes to poems, from occult sciences to historical anecdotes. For this reason, mecmuas are notable for almost every field of social sciences as well as literature. Letters written in verse or prose are among the text types found in mecmuas. Although letters are generally included in prose mecmua, they are also found in different types of mecmuas and manuscripts. The verse letter discussed in this study is also included in a poetry mecmua. One of these letters is a letter written by a poet with the pen name Fehmi, which was sent from Istanbul to Edirne. Hasan Hüsāmeddīn al-Fehmī al-Mevlevī wrote a verse letter when he returned to Istanbul from Edirne. This letter was sent to Kudumzenbaşı Kâmil Efendi, the son-in-law of Hācī Alī Eşref Dede who was the author of the Yemek Risalesi and was the sheikh of Edirne Mevlevi Lodge. In the introduction part of our study, literal information will be given about the letter type and the tradition of writing letters in verse in classical Turkish literature. Furthermore, the structure of the letters will be emphasized. Literary analysis of the letter will be made by deliberating the poets use of prosody and rhyme. The language and stylistic elements of the poem will be considered. The content of the poem will be summarized and information will be given about the people mentioned in the poem. An analysis will be conducted to explore the relationship of the work with the tradition of verse letters and its connection with the theme of the prose letter. Finally, we will describe and reveal the qualities of the manuscript and present the transcribed text.
