Özet:

The study discusses the change in designer identity through the concepts of "creation plane" and "design space" in the context of transforming paradigms. In this framework, the design space is the design product that builds the space; the creation/design plane is the area where the design space is produced; the productive actor of the space and design space is defined as the "designer subject". The plane of creation and the identity of the designer can be defined as the situations that activate the design during the design and the foundations that form the design. The designer subject embodies the "architectural space" by transforming a design space that she/he interprets and shapes on the plane of creation consisting of sketches, models, drawings and / or texts. In this sense, the plane of creation in which the design object is shaped plays a decisive and distinctive role in the establishment of the design space. On the other hand, the spirit, technique and knowledge of each age produce unique co-creation components and transform this atmosphere that establishes the identity of the designer subject. Paradigms that reflect the unique spirits of the ages are also effective in the production of design space as sensory inputs that affect the designer subject. In this study, the formation process of the identity of the designer, by explaining the situations that create and trigger the design, has been examined and discussed within the framework of three historical periods as Classical, Modern and 21st Century, with reference to the historical framework defined as "episteme" by Michael Foucault. The paradigms formed as a result of the breaks between the periods and the effects of the paradigms on the change of the designer identity are exemplified in analogy, mechanical and digital sense within the scope of the solution of Steven Holl's conceptual distinction of Classical, Modern and 21st Century.
