Özet:

We can say that the phenomenon of crowdfunding has been around for a long time on the basis of donations in human life. As an alternative financing method, it has become an emerging phenomenon that attracts significant attention by both academicians and practitioners, and it starts with the use of internet-based as an alternative to capital and financial markets. It continues to grow both in the world and in our country, especially with the increasing interest of entrepreneurs who need start-up capital. As crowdfunding grows exponentially, so do the challenges and opportunities involved. The crowdfunding method is quite different from other entrepreneurial financing methods. In this method, funders have to rely on the information provided by the founders during a crowdfunding campaign, and therefore there may be failure of project delivery and thus financing due to insufficient information. Therefore, information symmetry is an important consideration in crowdfunding. In this study, first of all, crowdfunding is defined and its characteristics, related terminology, basic elements and ethical issues are discussed. Subsequently, possible risk types are examined in detail, and ethical problems and risks in different crowdfunding methods are conveyed. The final section contains the results of this study and recommendations for future research.
