Özet:

Todays technologies appear directly or indirectly in many areas of our lives such as education, transportation, shopping, entertainment and can facilitate our daily work. While the conveniences offered by rapidly developing digital technologies provide innovative approaches in many fields, they are also constantly updated and developed depending on usage. Founded in the mid-20th century, digital technologies have shown a rapid development in the field of animation, and thanks to the popularity brought by this development, animated films created with traditional animation methods have started to be technically replaced by films produced with three-dimensional digital animation methods. This study aims to provide data to the field by examining the historical development of motion capture technology, which is directly related to three-dimensional animation production technique, its usage areas and its effects on three-dimensional animations through examples. In the study, which was created with qualitative research method, the relevant literature was reviewed and current perspectives were evaluated, and it was understood that the same results could be achieved in the near future with the use of advanced artificial intelligence-supported software and equipment instead of the complex physical hardware of motion capture technology systems for three-dimensional animation production. In addition, the study focuses on the systems used in motion capture technology, their technical competencies, working principles, advantages, disadvantages and future potential.
