Özet:

This study has been carried out on the concept of artificial intelligence, which has recently entered our lives, started to be used in many areas, and which is followed with increasing interest and curiosity, although it contains some unknowns and uncertainties. The history and progress of the concept of artificial intelligence was explained with a descriptive analysis by reviewing the literature, then the rise of artificial intelligence was tried to be analyzed on the scale of science and technology news. It has been tried to search on news texts what artificial intelligence is or not, what the possibilities or dangers awaiting humanity with artificial intelligence applications are. For this analysis, January 2023, when the subject started to appear frequently in science and technology news in our country, was taken as the beginning, and artificial intelligence news published within a six-month period from that date was scanned. The news texts selected according to the representative sampling method were analyzed with the content analysis method according to the categories created, and the indicators were included in the study in the context of contributing to this analysis. After the analysis of the news texts, the possibilities and the dangers of the rise and limits of artificial intelligence were determined and an evaluation was made about them. As a result, it has been seen that there is a construction in order to prepare humanity for this new world algorithm by developing a social awareness and consciousness about the dimensions of the possibilities and dangers waiting for humanity while the information and applications related to artificial intelligence are mentioned in the news. It can be said that the meaning created by the news focuses more on danger and threat areas.
