Özet:

The study examines the appropriation approach, which stands out as a style in art, through examples of artists and artworks. The appropriation approach, which means the reproduction of an original artwork that the artist takes as a reference, is also used as an alternative learning method in art. The artists appropriation and reinterpretation of an existing work continues to exist in art. The appropriation approach is evaluated with two different perspectives. Walter Benjamin claims that the artwork loses its originality when it is technically reproduced, while Nicolas Bourriaud considers the reproduction and transformation of the artwork as a part of art. In this study, examples of the concept of appropriation in classical, modern, and contemporary art were examined through artworks. In the study, works by contemporary artists such as Gerhard Richter, Sigmar Polke, Richard Prince, Marina Abramovic, and Nezaket Ekici were selected and productions were carried out.
