Özet:

Atatürks Speeches and Statements, which serves the purpose of explicating, and introducing the legitimacy of the national independence struggle, the Turkish Revolution, and the Republican regime to both the Turkish nation and the world public opinion, and transferring the memory of the liberation and foundation to the future generations, is a significant work for the history of the National Struggle and the history of the Republic of Turkey. Considering that the women issue which is one of the essential pillars of the Turkish revolution and modernization has an important place in the intellectual world of Atatürk, this research has been carried out to determine Atatürks point of view on the Turkish women in his speeches and statements, and hence, the policies towards women of the early Republican period. In the survey, the content analysis method has been used by utilizing the word frequency and keyword context technique. While the quantitative and qualitative data obtained by these techniques are important in terms of the objective character of the research, the reliability, and objectivity of the results acquired by examining the broader contexts in which the keywords are present and by analyzing the decodingrecipient-oriented content of the message have been confirmed. One of the prominent findings of this research is to equalize the Turkish women, who set forth on the duty of raising the new generation in pursuance of the national interests and national training in the constitution of the social formation, together with the Turkish men equally in all spheres of social, scientific, economic, military and political life in accordance with the age in the civilizing process. In addition to Atatürks Speeches and Statements which is the main source and reference work for the history of the Republic of Turkey, the Minutes of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, the Secret Session Minutes of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, and the related literature are among the sources of the study.
