Özet:

Islam does not only regulate the beliefs and worship life of human beings. Both the Quran and the Prophets Sunnah also regulate his social life. Nutrition, which is an indispensable life activity for human beings, is also an area where the divine teaching based on revelation sets rules about its nature and goal. The general framework drawn in the Quran is also detailed in the Prophets Sunnah. The purpose of this article is to review the Prophets practices regarding the etiquette of eating and drinking. The changes caused by todays evolving and changing conditions make it necessary to reconsider some of the habits, practices, recommendations and preferences of the Prophet in his time. Eating is a biochemical and necessary event, but the qualities of these meals are related to culture. The cultural codes of a society are also present in the act of eating. The process of food preparation is linked to traditions and beliefs, which are elements of culture. It is normal for the Prophet to have acquired some knowledge, including knowledge about the eating and drinking habits of the society in which he lived, before he became a prophet. After becoming a prophet, he forbade and abolished some of the previously known food and drink items and practices related to the culture of eating and drinking, continued some practices that were not forbidden, and reorganized some others. When the chapters on food and drink in hadith books are examined, it seems difficult to understand which of the Prophets behaviors contain local elements and which are universal and timeless. However, differentiating the Prophets behaviors that are influenced by local culture and setting more universal principles in this regard will make it easier for those who want to follow the Sunnah today. In Islam, some of the rules regarding eating and drinking are set out in the Quran and some in the Prophets Sunnah and are included in the books of fiqh. These rules determine the harams and halals related to the subject In the books that deal with the Prophets example, his personal practices on the subject are mostly mentioned. Some of these practices are recommended with the ruling of mendub and are considered as sunnah to be followed. Some of them are based on the cultural elements of the society in which he lived and allow for new practices within the framework of the cause. It is necessary to see the Prophets aim to heal and transform, his effort to protect health and social relations, and his effort to establish courtesy, decency and civilization. There is a need to adapt these practices to the present day. In this article, the behaviors that the Prophet preferred and practiced during eating and drinking will be identified. Within these behaviors, the habits of the culture he grew up in and the practices he recommended to be followed will be clarified. Thus, it will be possible to develop a dietary habit in accordance with the Sunnah today. At the end of the article, for this purpose, an up-to-date table etiquette in accordance with the sunnah is tried to be determined.

İslam Dini insanın sadece inançlarını ve ibadet hayatını düzenlemez. Gerek Kuranla gerekse Hz. Hz.
