Özet:

The world economy is changing rapidly with globalisation and technological advances. These changes shape the economic development processes of countries and regions by affecting their foreign trade performance. Turkey is an important actor of foreign trade due to its geography. In this study, it is aimed to reveal and evaluate the current situation regarding the foreign trade performance of Kayseri province, which has a strategic position in the Central Anatolia Region of Turkey. In this direction, the current situation is evaluated by analysing the foreign trade data of Kayseri province for the period 2013-2022. The data for the relevant period show that the foreign trade of Kayseri province has increased significantly in recent years. This increase is a result of both the growth in global trade and Turkeys export-oriented growth strategy and the developments in Kayseri provinces foreign trade. Kayseris production capacity in many sectors such as furniture, textiles, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, electrical and electronic equipment has played an important role in increasing the provinces foreign trade performance. In addition, this study aims to provide information to understand Kayseris foreign trade potential and to assess its future economic position.
