Özet:

The development of the internet, establishment of social networks, and advancements in technology and mobile communications have enabled individuals to communicate anytime, anywhere, with anyone, thus altering their perception of time and space and changing their relationships with society, themselves, and urban spaces, leading to a globalized world. The way individuals perceive their surroundings and their changing lifestyle has influenced the utilization of urban spaces and the organization of cities. Behiç Ak, through his theater plays A City of One Person and Nowhere Left to Shrink, criticizes the lives of contemporary society individuals and their relationships with cities from an architects perspective, using exaggeration and humor. Behiç Aks plays are examined, highlighting the alienation of individuals in the network society from themselves, society, and urban spaces, the reflections of changing societal lifestyles on cities, and the critical interpretation brought by an architect who is also a playwright. The common features of the two plays include individuals alienating themselves from their surroundings and the inability to communicate despite the available communication tools, the inability to experience urban spaces due to technology and internet facilities that enable working from home and meeting needs, and the lack of happiness despite all positive developments.
