Özet:

The aim of this study is to reveal the activities of the art and press societies that contributed to the development of Turkish-Greek relations, which entered into a process of friendship with various agreements signed since 1930. The multifaceted and intense relations maintained politically and diplomatically during this period found a response in many areas of both countries. Theatre, cinema and press societies were among the first areas affected by this friendly atmosphere and at the same time influenced the development of this friendship. Turkish and Greek theatre artists brought their cultures to the stage with plays in which Turkish and Greek were spoken simultaneously, many state officials participated in these plays, and these plays were watched side by side by Turkish and Greek audiences. While the theatre plays of this period were interpreted as an exchange of arts by the public, similar activities and collaborations were also carried out in the field of cinema. Turkish and Greek press societies also became one of the most important symbols of friendship in this process, parallel to political and diplomatic relations. In the study, firstly, the process of the recovery phase of Turkish-Greek relations and the thoughts of the political actors of the period about the friendship established between the two countries were mentioned and then the contributions of the art and press societies in Turkey and Greece to this process were tried to be explained with examples.
