Özet:

Today, people are showing an attitude parallel to their changing social and economic situations and showing interest in eco-tourism and cultural tourism as well as sea tourism. Sustainability of cultural tourism, which contributes to the economic, social and cultural development of countries in the national and international arena, is essential. Sustainability in cultural tourism is only possible by carrying out the necessary protection and restoration works for the heritage. In the city of Şanlıurfa, which has many cultural heritage and offers different opportunities to tourists with its culturally original values, the khans that were used for trade or accommodation at the time of its construction, but are mostly traded today, are frequent destinations for tourists. The Barutçu Khan, which has been restored and re-functionalized, today hosts a large number of tourists by allowing the tangible and intangible cultural heritage to be seen holistically. The aim of this study is to examine the preservation and sustainability of the unique values of culture in cultural tourism in the example of Şanlıurfa Barutçu Khan.
