Özet:

The earth, which has been faced with climate change at various periods since the existence of the world, has emerged for the first time due to human-caused reasons, especially as a result of peoples domination of nature since the Industrial Revolution. Climate change, expressed as greenhouse gases accumulating in the atmosphere and changing the climate pattern as a result of reasons such as industrialization and urbanization, excessive use of fossil fuels, deforestation, is threatening the future of all living and inanimate beings by reaching a global dimension. It is known that climate change has many negative effects on human health, such as floods and floods, drought, disorganization of precipitation regimes, epidemics, forced displacements, as well as many harms on the earth. Loss of life; heart, vascular and lung diseases; infant mortality and psychological disorders are considered as the main difficulties caused by climate change directly or indirectly on human health. The aim of this study is to; it is to address whether climate change causes anxiety in citizens through citizens living in Turkey. There are two main hypotheses of the study. H1: Citizens living in Turkey have low anxiety about climate change. H2: Demographic variables differ in terms of climate concerns of citizens. The survey technique, one of the quantitative research techniques, was used in the research and responses were collected from 407 people living in Turkey. The obtained data were analyzed using SPSS 23 package program. Percentage and frequency distribution, explanatory factor analysis, Mann-Whitney U Test and Kruskal-Wallis Tests were used as analysis methods. As a result of the research, it was found that the climate anxieties of citizens living in Turkey were quite low and the H1 hypothesis was accepted. It was found that the climate change anxiety scores were quite low in general, and although there was a differentiation between demographic variables in terms of various propositions, the H2 hypothesis was rejected because it was not meaningful in general.
