A Comparative Analysis on T. S. Eliot ve Osman Türkay: The Waste Land and Evrenin Düşünde Gezgin Abstract: Comparing two or more texts in terms of content, style, themes or context leads to a better comprehension and deeper insight into literary texts. Such comparative literary studies develop critical thinking and analytical skills and involve imitation, influence or rewriting of a previous text. When literature is considered, there is rich source for comparison. Turkish writer Osman Türkay analyzed the English writer T. S. Eliot in time and translated some of his poems. This comparative analysis focuses on the study of influence based on Eliots The Waste Land and Osman Türkays the European part of The Wanderer in the Dream of the Universe. Some of the answers to the questions are analyzed and important data for literary productivity are collected. The main questions to be answered are: Is there any influence of T. S. Eliot on Osman Türkay? To what extent can this effect be observed in terms of language, theme and messages in the two texts; What are the elements that are unique and carried to other dimensions with this effect?
