Özet:

Aim:This study aimed to compare the noise and light intensity levels before and after the training and reminder visuals given to employees in the delivery room unit. Materials and Methods: This study is a quasi-experimental study. The noise level and light intensity measurement results were compared before and after the awareness training and placement of warning posters for employees in the maternity unit of a training and research hospital. The research was planned as a quasi-experimental type. Light intensity and sound levels were measured from 10 different points in the Birth Room Unit, before and after the training, for 7 days, at designated hours. Descriptive and inferential statistical methods were used to analyze the data using the SPSS 27.0 package program. Results: In the study, it was found that the noise levels did not differ after the training given to the employees in the delivery rooms, corridor, maternity-post-op, baby room, examination room and NST room. Differently, in the measurements made at 08:00 in the morning in the baby room, the noise level was found to be lower after the training than before the training. It was concluded that the all-day average of light intensity in birth rooms decreased after training and posters, and unlike other birth rooms, the light intensity level of a birth room decreased significantly during all measurement hours after training. After the training, there was no difference in the light intensity measurement results in the baby room, and there were significant decreases in the all-day average of the light intensity level measured in the examination room, corridor, and maternity room. Conclusion:. Existing light and noise levels in the delivery room unit can be reduced by training given to employees and other methods.
