Özet:

The study examines the relationship between alexithymia and burnout. For this purpose, the research population consists of 3878 teachers working in public schools in Karaman province in the 2023-2024 academic year. Using the survey technique, 363 questionnaire forms obtained from people who volunteered to participate with the convenience sampling method were included in the study. The data obtained were analysed using SPSS 25 and AMOS 24 programmes. In the analysis of the data, EFA, CFA, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, Cronbach α coefficient, descriptive statistics values of the scales, correlation test, t-test and ANOVA, regression analysis were performed. According to the findings, it was determined that there was a significant and positive relationship between teachers alexithymia levels and emotional burnout. It was observed that teachers showed low levels of alexithymia and emotional burnout. In addition, it was seen that there was no difference in the alexithymia levels of teachers in terms of gender, marital status, and working years. In addition, it was found that alexithymia levels differed according to age variables. It is thought that the studies on alexithymia in the literature are generally carried out on clinical psychology and studies other than this are mostly carried out on health workers and students and in this respect, the study will contribute to the literature.
