Özet:

Artificial intelligence, which is widely used in the health, law, and banking sectors, has ceased to be a purely technical concept as it has become indispensable in daily life practices and has now become a subject of study in social sciences, especially literature and sociology. The novels Never Let Me Go and Klara and the Sun were chosen as examples where the effects of artificial intelligence are reflected in literature. Japanese-British writer Kazuo Ishiguro, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2017, brings human and non-human characters side by side in both of his novels in the fictional universe he created based on the level of advanced technology. In this respect, it has been determined that the works also accept non-human beings as actors. And for this reason, sociologist Bruno Latours actor-network theory was used as a method in the study. According to this theory, the traditional understanding of sociology, which only grants humans the function of being an agent, is mistaken about the components of society. Latour, with his approach called sociology of partnerships in accordance with his theory, explains that the function of being an actor can consist of both human and non-human entities. This study aims to examine how the subject of artificial intelligence is reflected in literature through actor-network theory, a sociological method, by covering Ishiguros two novels. It has been concluded that in Ishiguros novels, where dystopian details are also evident, non-human beings also take part as actors and ultimately make one think about the need to recreate social components.

2017 yılında Nobel Edebiyat Ödülüne layık görülen Japon asıllı İngiliz yazar Kazuo Ishiguro her iki romanında, ileri teknolojinin geldiği seviye itibariyle oluşturduğu kurgu evreninde, insan ve insan-olmayan karakterleri yan yana getirir.
