Özet:

Although created from the same essence, man and woman re two different genders endowed with various features and blessings. This being the case, God Almighty has made these two different types equal in faith and worship in general and emphasized that the superiority is in piety. At the same time, Almighty Allah has determined some rules that people will achieve happiness in this world and the hereafter, since they are social beings, and has imposed some penal sanctions on these rules in case of violation or neglect of these rules. Leaving aside whether they made right or wrong decisions, it can be said that human legal systems throughout history have generally made law rules with these and similar motives. It is imperative that social order be maintained in some way. Because society can only maintain itself with certain rules and can move away from chaos in this direction. According to Islamic law, while most of the penal sanctions attached to the rules in question are implemented by legal bodies, the right to reprimand is given to the parents and even the husband in solving some problems within the family. As one of these issues, in the thirty-fourth verse of Sūrah an-Nisā, there is even a special procedure that the husband can apply under certain conditions, regarding the discipline of the disobedient woman who does not improve her condition. However, today, by using certain tools, the facts have been distorted and an artificial perception of violence against women has been created through this verse, and sadly, the minds of many Muslims have been confused. So much so that some Muslim scholars, influenced by these views, distorted the meaning of the verse by giving meaningless meanings to some words in the verse. In this study, an effort has been made to present the facts as they are and to refute the perception in question from different perspectives.
