Özet:

After the Cold War, with the independence of the Turkish states under the domination of the USSR, the geopolitics of the Turkish World gained importance and with the establishment of the Organization of Turkish States after long efforts, the Turkish States were able to create a common platform. The organization, which has gained the identity of an international regional organization, has the potential to make significant contributions to the solution of global and regional problems. Although there are important political, economic and social problems that the organization is expected to produce solutions, the most up-to-date problem is the Nagorno-Karabakh problem, which is frozen from time to time and turns into a hot conflict from time to time. The Nakhchivan region, whose ethnic structure has been tried to be changed in the historical process, has a strategic position in terms of transportation and energy transmission lines that can be established between Turkey and Azerbaijan, and therefore between the Turkish World. The solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem in favor of Azerbaijan is extremely important in terms of the land connection that can be established between the Turkish World. The fact that Azerbaijan took back a significant part of its lands after the Second Karabakh War has been both an important geopolitical gain and a source of motivation for the Turkish World, as it allows a direct road connection between the Turkish States. However, with the agreement that ended the war, the settlement of Russian soldiers in the region as peacekeepers and Russias efforts to make the countries of the region dependent on itself by taking the initiative in solving the problem have created a negative status for the time being in terms of the geopolitics of the Turkic World. In this study, whose main purpose is to explain the historical process of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem and to discuss the geopolitics of the Turkic World in this context, an answer is sought to the question of what kind of effects the Nagorno-Karabakh problem has had on the geopolitics of the Turkic World.
