Özet:

In this study, the aim was to determine the effect of university personnels physical activity levels on their social appearance anxiety and self-confidence levels, as well as to examine the relationship between these factors. A total of 329 university personnel participated in the study, comprising 157 47.7 administrative and 172 52.3 academic staff. Data were collected using a Demographic Information Form, the International Physical Activity Questionnaire, the Social Appearance Anxiety Scale, and the Self-Esteem Scale. Pearson correlation analysis was used to examine the relationship between variables after normal distributions were confirmed, and regression analysis was employed to determine the impact of significant relationships on each other. A significant negative relationship p 0.05 was found between individuals physical activity levels and social appearance anxiety, while a significant positive relationship p 0.05 was observed between physical activity levels and self-confidence levels. Furthermore, a negative relationship p 0.05 was identified between self-confidence levels and social appearance anxiety. Participants physical activity levels significantly predicted their social appearance anxiety and self-confidence levels. Consequently, the findings indicate that physical activity has the potential to decrease individuals social appearance anxiety and increase their self-confidence levels. Increasing physical activity could be an effective strategy for reducing social appearance anxiety and enhancing self-confidence.
