Özet:

Mehmet Şemseddin Bey, who is a member of a Caucasian Circassian family, settled in Istanbul with his family and completed his education here. After a successful education life, Mehmet Şemseddin Bey, who carried out various duties in the Ottoman Empire, was one of the duties of the Tehran Embassy. Mehmet Şemseddin Bey, who served as Tehran Ambassador for more than ten years during the crisis years of Iran, played a decisive role in Iran's political and social events thanks to the friendship he established with both the government and the opposition. Mehmet Şemseddin Bey, who was a mediator in favor of Ahrar despite the political interventions of foreign powers such as Russia and England, and the anti-constitutional and parliamentary policies of the Ottoman-Iranian oppression governments, made important contributions to the peaceful resolution of the political crises in Iran. Mehmet Şemseddin Bey, who played a facilitating role in the solution of the problems in Iran, especially the constitutional events, with the peace diplomacy he implemented, also tried to resolve the issues on the right ground by negotiating with both the Shah and the supporters of the constitutionalism from time to time. However, although Mehmet Şemseddin Bey played an important role in the political and social events in Iran with his effective and successful diplomatic activities, his success was almost punished instead of appreciated by the government he represented. In this study, we touched upon the political and social events that took place in Iran during the years that Mehmet Şemseddin Bey served as the Tehran Embassy and examined his role in these developments.
