Özet:

Unemployment is one of the significant challenges that the economies face. Youth unemployment is another challenge that needs a separate consideration on the solution of unemployment. In an economic structure, there are five fundamental pillars unveil the young unemployment which are an economic conjuncture, the structure of demography, education system, wage policy and quality conflict.
In this article, the situation of youth unemployment has been examined with its causing elements and it has been asserted that the basis of the young unemployment in Turkey is the economy.
This perspective comes up with an inference that the causing elements of the unemployment and young unemployment in Turkey is the same and the coefficient of correlation between them is 0,98. Besides, economic growth is the major factor to prevent youth unemployment and the coefficient of correlation between them is -0,57.
26 regions, which are also categorized as sub-regions by the Turkish Statistical Institution (TUIK), have been taken into consideration in the econometric analysis section of the paper, and the panel data method has been used based on the data between 2008-2018. According to the empirical results, the export and construction sector do not affect the young unemployment; the essential reason behind the youth unemployment
in Turkey is the insufficient growth. Industrial production is one of the factor that reduce the youth unemployment rate; the increasement of the higher education graduates causes the rise of the youth unemployment rate.
