Özet:

Combating other enemies on behalf of the Russian lands and unity with patriotic feelings, the Cossacks, consisting of different ethnic roots, stand out with their free, fun-loving, strong bonds of friendship, brave and warrior characteristics. The Cossacks, who are known by the names of the geography they are in or the states they serve throughout the historical process, are seen as an important social layer in terms of the development of the Russian State. Fighting for the purpose of serving the homeland and preserving the Orthodox faith, the Cossacks consider themselves an integral part of the Russian spirit and society. Zaporozhye Cossacks, who had a common feature with other Cossack societies, emerged in the territory of South Russia at the end of the 15th century and at the beginning of the 16th century, and lived in the border regions, not only protected Russia from the invasion of Western Catholic States, but also prevented the threats from Asia and crossed the Western border. have created a buffer zone. The heroism of the Zaporozhye Cossacks, their cultural characteristics, their patriotic feelings, the role they played in the protection of the Russian lands and faith are conveyed by Nikolay Vasilyevich Gogol, one of the important writers of 19th century Russian literature, through the discourses and actions of the protagonists Taras Bulba and Cossacks soldiers in his work Taras Bulba. In our study, in the Russian thought and literature of the period, the ideas of the author, which was shaped among the Westerner-Slavic debates about how the future of the country should be, and the patriotism of the Zaporozhian Cossacks, who fought for the Russian lands, fraternal ties, and Orthodox faith, reflected in this context, Taras Bulba. will be explored through.
