Özet:

Our study focuses on walking in the desert and the wonder to which it gives rise to walkers. The Night of Fire by Eric Emanuel Schmitt is an autobiographical and philosophical novel; it is the story of a mystical night, the painful walk, the search for meaning as well as the wonder that forever changed Eric Emanuel Schmitt. The exotic space that presents itself to the eyes of the narrator creates wonder. The desert is a place where the wandering subject finds himself prey to reflections on the nothingness, he and his traveling companions. It is therefore essential to think about walking and the feeling of the desert. Next, it would be important to shed some light on desert walking and how it gives rise to wonder in walkers. It is also appropriate to explain Schmitt's walk in the desert and how it gave rise to a loss of bearings and a quest for meaning. A theoretical overview based on gait theories and geopoetics has imposed itself in our work.
