Özet:

Homicide news are frequently encountered in the mass and printed media. Though the situations that lead to homicide vary, it is possible to say that reasons such as insanity, killing with the motive of custom, economic problems, jealousy, drug use, honor killings, street fighting, insults are the main situations that lead to homicide. Regardless of the motivation, every homicide has a biological, psychological or sociological reason, and this study aims to explain the sociological reasons of the killing crime. In this context, crime and crime theories are mentioned in this study and general causes of criminal behavior are emphasized. After explaining the crime theories, homicide rates in the World and Turkey are examined and it is observed that income level and cultural structure is quite effective on homicide. It is seen that the suicidal tendency and homicide tendency differ according to the economic competence and cultural structure of the countries. Thus, it can be said that the social structure has an effect on the trends of the crime of killing. The sociological reasons of the homicide cover many parameters from income inequality to the educational structure and educational level of the society. For this reason, in order to understand the causes of killing in a region and to combat it, the characteristics of the social structure of that region must be analyzed well, Although the crime of killing is a universal crime, its reasons may differ from region to region, and measures should be taken by taking into account the cultural structure of the society in order to prevent these crimes.
