Özet:

Globalization affects countries differently. With the principle of globalization, distances are narrowing in the world, and individuals habitual consumption habits, lifestyles, cultural values and expectations for the future are changing. Just as globalization affects almost everything, it also has important effects on poverty in the world. In this study, it is aimed to examine the globalization and poverty relations for the transition countries for the period of 2004-2018 by panel data analysis method. In this context, it is aimed to contribute to the literature by researching the relationship between globalization and poverty for Transition countries, differing from other studies in the literature in terms of selected country group, analysis method and selected variables. Selected Transition countries covered in the study; Armenia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Russia and Slovenia. In this study, which examines the effects of economic, social and political globalization on poverty, panel data analysis technique was used. Then, whether there is a multicollinearity problem, cross-section dependence, unit root testing, Pooled Least Squares HEKK, Fixed Effects SE and Random Effects TE methods were used. Then, appropriate model selection and determination of basic assumptions were made. As a result of the research, according to the Driscoll-Kraay robust fixed effects estimation results for Transition countries; A positive statistically significant relationship was found between social globalization and political globalization and poverty. No relationship was found between economic globalization and poverty.
