Özet:

It should be underlined that most interiors in Turkey had not been documented and therefore, there is a serious gap in literature. Due to this gap in literature, alternative research methods had started to be employed in recent studies. One of these methods is Turkish Cinema which mostly uses the interiors as they are between 1960 and 1980. In this study, in order to contribute to the literature and fill the necessary gap in the literature, eight films dating back to 1960-1980 period; Küçük Hanımefendi 1961, Seven Kadın Unutmaz 1965, Tatlı Meleğim 1970, Tatlı Dillim 1972, Gülizar 1972, Tanrı Misafiri 1973, Ah Bu Gençlik 1975 and Ne Olacak Şimdi? 1979 had been selected. The criteria of this selection is based on the fact that these films represent a variation in terms of interior space through office and residential interiors. So, here, the goal of this study is to examine the interiors and the specific eras of these mentioned interiors through the analysis of these selected films in which the interiors of both offices and residential units had been emphasized. In the meantime, design approaches and interior elements such as furniture and lighting fixtures in this era are analyzed in a comparative way. Through this analysis, it is understood whether or not international design approaches and trends had been embraced in Turkey.
