Özet:

Green logistics is an approach that aims to provide both economic and environmental benefits by integrating environmental sustainability principles into logistics processes. This concept includes reducing carbon footprint, increasing energy efficiency, and protecting natural resources. Minimizing the negative impacts on the environment in logistics activities such as transportation, storage, and supply chain management is among the main priorities of green logistics. Especially today, increasing environmental awareness and international regulations are leading countries to adopt more sustainable logistics strategies. Therefore, green logistics is critical to balance economic growth and environmental sustainability. The study investigated the relationship between economic and environmental factors and green logistics in European Union EU countries. The Panel ARDL method was applied using data from 2000 to 2020. According to the analysis results, a significant and positive relationship was found between green logistics and CO2 and REC, representing environmental factors in the long term; a significant positive relationship was found with GDP, representing economic factors; a significant negative relationship with TO, and an insignificant relationship with FDI. When the short-term coefficients are examined, a positive relationship is found between green logistics performance and CO2 and GDP, while a negative relationship is found with TO. In line with these results, policymakers can be advised to determine regulations and standards that support green logistics practices. While creating these regulations and standards, priority can be given to areas such as renewable energy use, energy efficiency, promotion of low-emission vehicles, and monitoring of carbon emissions. It is also recommended that businesses protect the vitality of international trade while promoting environmental sustainability.
