Özet:

The research aims to examine the sociological implications of mothers active participation in the workforce on family dynamics and work life. Adopting a phenomenological approach, the study is designed as a qualitative research. A sample of 15 mothers, who have been employed in the workforce in Niğde province for at least 2 years, was selected. Participants thoughts on their family and work lives were explored through a semi-structured interview form consisting of 18 questions. The obtained data were analyzed around core themes, employing descriptive analyses and using the method of open coding for data analysis. Results were drawn by identifying common patterns. Findings clearly illustrate the challenges and emotional experiences faced by mothers working in the public sector. Prominent outcomes of the study include mothers inability to spend sufficient time with their children due to work commitments, difficulties encountered in requesting leave at the workplace, and the need for the development of state policies. The results highlight that working mothers are required to balance their work lives, encountering various challenges in the process.
