Özet:

Tourism is recognised worldwide as an important industry with economic, cultural and social impacts. The tourism sector has the potential to generate economic growth and employment for many countries and cities, and supports urban transformation and the preservation of local cultures. Ordu province, located in the Black Sea region of Turkey, stands out as a city with high tourism potential with its natural beauties, historical richness and cultural heritage. The unique natural and historical richness of Ordu creates an attractive destination for tourists and contributes to the economic development of the city. In this study, the tourism areas of Ordu province were analysed with the mind mapping method, the perception and change of the citys tourism area changing with experience were discussed, and the priorities with which the basic urban image types put forward by Lynch 1960 were shaped in the minds of individuals were evaluated. Based on the permanence of Ordus tourism areas in the visual memory of individuals, suggestions have been made on how these areas can be developed by becoming a more effective tourism area.
