Özet:

The expansion of cultural spaces in the 21st century, driven by sustainability, cultural heritage conservation, and urban identity formation, has become a key factor in shaping cities globally. Museum clusters serve not only as spaces for cultural production but also as architectural and urban entities that redefine spatial relationships, transform public space, and promote social, cultural, and economic development. The concept of the museum-city is examined through the spatial integration of museums, their role within the urban fabric, and their influence on public space, emphasizing the dialectic relationship between cultural institutions and the city. Focusing on Denvers Civic Center Cultural Complex, this study explores how museum clusters extend beyond individual architectural objects to reconfigure the urban fabric, establish spatial continuity, and redefine the built environments character. Using a multi-layered and meshworked framework, the research examines evolving spatial patterns and the changing relationships between cultural institutions and urban form. The Frederic C. Hamilton Building of the Denver Art Museum serves as a case study, illustrating how museum clusters enhance spatial porosity and act as mechanisms of urban continuity. The findings highlight the role of museum clusters in reinforcing spatial relationships between architecture and its users, redefining urban identity, and contributing to sustainable urbanism. The museum-city model is ultimately framed as a comprehensive urban strategy that transcends isolated architectural objects, transforming public space into a site of collective memory, cultural interaction, and knowledge exchange.
