Özet:

The Seljuks of Turkey, which has an important place in the history of the Middle Ages, ensured the Turkification of Anatolia. The sultans who took over the state made important attempts to protect and develop the state with the decisions they took. In addition to the order they provided, they lived in weak and turbulent periods. There are psychological factors underlying the decisions taken by the Seljuk sultans of Turkey and their identity as statesmen. They had emotions such as fear, sadness and excitement in line with the socio-political conditions of the period they lived in and their interaction with the environment. In this study, the personality of Izz ed-Dīn Keykāus II, the last Turkish Seljuk sultan to ascend the throne independently, and the psychological factors in the decisions he took during his reign are discussed. In line with the information provided by period sources and research works, it is aimed to evaluate the period of Izz ed-Dīn Keykāus II from a different perspective with the psychohistorical method.
