Özet:

Event tourism has become a type of tourism that is emphasized by destination managements for reasons such as strengthening the image of the region where it is organized and supporting local development. Within the scope of the research, it is aimed to provide support for the organization to be carried out more effectively by evaluating the data obtained about the organization of the Vosvos Festival. In addition, it is thought that the inferences obtained from this research can provide a framework for the ideal functioning of the organization process of festivals in general. The universe of this research, which was carried out within the scope of Ordu Vosvos Festival, consists of people who took part in this organization and contributed to this organization process administratively. With the help of a semi-structured interview form, data were collected from the people involved in the organization of Ordu Vosvos Festival and local government employees who were knowledgeable about the festival. Purposive sample selection method was used in sample selection. According to the data obtained, the natural attractions of Ordu province and the hospitable approach of the local people provide a suitable environment for the Vosvos festival to be held in the province. The main motivation for organizing festivals for many touristic regions is their contribution to the development of the region. It is understood from the findings obtained from the participants that the festival has a positive effect on the development of Ordu province, but this effect is still insufficient. Making arrangements to increase the role of local people in the festival will strengthen the impact of the festival on development. It is thought that the Vosvos festival and other local events, which will be successfully organized in the future, will support the awareness of Ordu in the tourism sector and make significant contributions to its development.
