Özet:

The iron and steel sector can be expressed as a specialized sector that needs imports to complete production while it aims to transform the value obtained from production processes into earning value through exports. Today, both developed and developing countries tend to establish and develop the iron and steel sector, which is the mainstay of all industries. In this context, the importance, target, establishment and development activities of the iron and steel sector depend on the strength of the sector that can withstand international competition conditions, optimal capacity utilization and efficient production efficiency with the help of modern technologies. In this sense, the study analyzes Turkeys IIT intensity in the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation BSEC for the period 2018-2022 by using the Grubel-Lloyd IIT index calculation. It is found that IIT intensity is not at the desired level compared to the number of member countries.
