Özet:

With the increase in the worlds human population and the corresponding increase in urbanization density, settlements were quickly illuminated. As a result, the night sky brightness, that is, light pollution, is increasing all over the world. Light pollution has many negative effects on air pollution, human health, ecological environment, astronomy, and economy. In this context, measurements of sky brightness at night are very important for our planet. In this study, the amount of light energy escaping into space due to artificial lighting at nighttime was measured from 55 regions covering an area of 81 km2 in the Atakum district of Samsun. Previously, measurements of sky brightness were made near light sources from the earth. In this study, the Sky Quality Meter SQM device was mounted on the unmanned aerial vehicle UAV and used to measure the sky brightness at 50 m above the ground. By using the data measured by the SQM device and the geographical coordinates, a thematic iso-luminance map was created with the mapping software. With the obtained sky brightness values and surface area values, the total luminous flux emitted from the atmosphere to the space and cannot be used in lighting was found to be 53.37 million lumens. This energy corresponds to the electricity needs of 2094 families in Samsun every month.
