Özet:

Alevism emerged as a different interpretation of Islam and has been shaped by socio-political and cultural influences. Based on the love for Prophet Ali and the Ahl al-Bayt, Alevism was born within Shiism but has gradually differentiated itself from Shiism over time. Shiism adheres strictly to the teachings of Imam Jafar al-Sadiq and the belief in the Twelve Imams. In contrast, Alevism exhibits a more open structure to mystical teachings, Sufism, and the influence of the Bektaşi order. Elements such as cem rituals, semah, folk songs, and worship accompanied by the saz play a significant role in Alevism. During the Middle Ages, with the influence of the Turkmen who migrated to Anatolia, Alevism became a significant religious and cultural identity in this region. During the Ottoman period, Alevi communities were occasionally subjected to oppression but managed to preserve their beliefs and rituals. In the Republican period, with the principle of secularism, Alevism became more visible and acceptable. This study focuses on how Alevism emerged from the process of the emergence of Islamic sects to the present day. In this context, the belief in Alevism has been examined along with the phenomena that have influenced it throughout history, and the intellectual sources of the belief have been attempted to be revealed. The aim of this study is to evaluate the elements affecting the formation of the Alevism belief system within mystical thought, including its belief principles, rituals worship, and religious social structure. This article has been conducted with qualitative research methods and historical analysis, comparative analysis and descriptive analysis techniques have been used in the article.
