Özet:

This study aimed to examine the relationship between the level of sportive mental endurance and basketball technical skills in basketball players aged 12-14 years. The basketball players who make up the research group consist of basketball players who are preparing for the Antalya region U-14 Anatolian league competitions in the 2022-2023 season, and the random sample selection method was used to determine the basketball players who make up the research group. Mental Endurance Inventory in Sports was used to determine the mental endurance levels of basketball players. Basketball Ability Test Battery Inventory was used to determine the technical capacities of young basketball players aerial shot to the hoop, dribbling, fast pass to the wall. SPSS 25.0 program was used to analyze the data collected within the scope of the research. The normality test of the data was performed with Kolmogorov Smirnov. Cronbachs Alpha values for the mental toughness inventory were found between .65 and .77. Pearson Correlation analysis was used to examine the relationship between mental resilience and skill measurements. Multiple Linear Regression analysis was used to examine the effect of mental resilience on skill measurements. According to the findings, the effect of mental endurance on dribbling is 15.8 and this effect is statistically significant r2,158; p0.05. As a result, it is thought that the development of sportive mental endurance in training programs can be an effective strategy to increase the technical skills of basketball players. These results may provide guidance to experts and coaches working in the field of exercise psychology to develop individualized approaches to optimize both physical and mental abilities of players.
